Student Application
All prospective students should request admission to the School by submitting an online application.
Admissions Testing and Shadow Day
Admissions testing is required for all new applicants along with a shadow day on our campus. Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten evaluations affirm a child’s readiness for a full-day academic program. Primary areas of testing for 1st through 8th grades include reading comprehension, writing, spelling and mathmatics. These tests aid the School in making an appropriate placement of your child and provide your child with the greatest opportunity for academic success. Providence Academy reserves the right to review all previous school records, standardized test results and benchmark testing results, as deemed necessary. In addition, all applicants in grades 6-8 are required to conduct an interview with the Middle School division head. Evaluations and shadow day activities are scheduled by the Admissions department as grade openings become available.
Additional Documents
The Admissions department will request the following items on or before the scheduled testing date:
- Copy of student’s birth certificate
- Student’s current and previous school records
- Standardized test results and SOL’s
- Teacher referrals
- Any applicable child study review, 504 Plan, IEP or diagnostic testing
Acceptance
Acceptance into Providence Academy will be determined after all requested items have been received and admissions testing has been completed and evaluated. Once accepted, the School will send you a letter of acceptance with instructions for completing the online enrollment contract.
Anti-discrimination Policy
All decisions concerning admission to Providence Academy are based upon the personal qualifications of the applicant, without regard to race, creed, color, or national origin. Furthermore, Providence Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, or national origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, financial aid, athletic, and other school-administered programs.
